Katie Corrao

Artistic director and founder

Katie Corrao is an Italian American dance artist based in New York City, dedicated to dissecting our shared humanity through movement. With foundational training in both contemporary and commercial dance, and a childhood rooted in classical music, Katie bridges her multiple identities through a practice that feels intrinsic, embodied, and deeply healing.

Katie received her BFA in Contemporary Dance and Choreography from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where KTCO, the company, first emerged as an idea.

After bringing KTCO to New York City in 2024 following graduation, Katie has produced several evening-length works for the company, as well as commissions for freelance producers and choreographers. Her work has been presented throughout New York City, Arizona, and internationally.

For Katie, movement creation feels like an additional limb - a part of her being. It was never a question of if she would choreograph, but when and how. KTCO had been at the forefront of her mind since she was a child, and as a firm believer in "my time is now," she took a leap of faith and began fostering the community that is KTCO. Born from human connection and an abundance of love and trust among collaborators, KTCO fosters a sanction for those seeking refuge from life's tribulations.  KTCO exists beyond a dance company—it is a community of women built on collaboration, care, and shared growth. Through KTCO, she continues to investigate identity, the body, and movement, while resisting the containment of dance into solemnity alone.
